PuntoPago (puntopago.net) is a fast-growing fintech startup headquartered in Panama. We’re looking for a Credit Risk Model Lead who will develop and implement our credit risk framework from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to shape the strategy, processes, and technology stack of a hypergrowth startup—without the constraints of traditional banking environments.
What You’ll Do
Design & Build: Define and build credit risk models to support our expanding product portfolio (credit cards, BNPL, and more).
Data Strategy: Identify, collect, and analyze the data points necessary for robust risk assessments and continuous model improvements.
Risk Management: Develop risk policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain credit quality and regulatory compliance.
Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, and Analytics teams to integrate risk models into our platforms, ensuring a seamless customer experience.
Leadership: Provide strategic guidance on credit risk topics, including emerging fintech trends and industry best practices.
Innovation: Drive experimentation and iterative improvements to keep our risk models at the cutting edge of fintech.
What You’ll Bring
Startup Mindset: Demonstrated ability to build and iterate rapidly in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Technical Expertise: Proven experience in developing credit risk models—preferably with a background in machine learning, statistical modeling, or advanced analytics.
Industry Insights: Background in fintech is strongly preferred; banking-only experience may not be a fit.
Adaptability: Willingness to work remotely or consider relocation to Panama, depending on business needs.
