About s16vcs16vc is a Founders-for-Founders venture fund. We are backed by over 150 founders and operators, including the people behind Miro, Wolt, Bolt, Zalando, HuggingFace, Datadog, and many more. With their help, we’re building the kind of fund we wished we had on the other side of the table when raising ourselves.
What that means in practice:
- Most of the partners at s16vc are founders themselves and remain active in their companies.
- There’s no wall between our LPs and portfolio founders.
- We commit within ~21 days of first meeting or reject quickly with honest feedback.
- An s16vc partner is on 100% of founder calls.
- We don’t impose help — but once a founder asks, we treat the request as our own.
- We back pre-seed/seed companies targeting global, pan-European, and US markets.
We Run the Fund Like a Tech Companys16vc is an AI-first fund, and we mean it literally. Our operating system is S16 Brain — an AI-native workspace we built for ourselves and spun out as a product, Team Brain (team-brain.com). Today, 100+ compiled agents run the fund: they capture and enrich dealflow, pull call transcripts and turn them into structured knowledge, draft memo inputs, monitor the portfolio, run reporting workflows, and answer pipeline questions in our messengers.
Our conviction: everything that can be automated, will be — by us, on our own platform. Humans at s16vc exist to do the two things agents can’t: exercise investment judgment, and design the systems that scale it. Every role at the fund, this one included, is measured as much by the leverage it builds as by the work it does.
The RoleWe’re looking for an exceptional Junior Analyst (1–3 years of experience) who thinks like an analyst and a product person at the same time. You’ll sit at the core of our dealflow — forming and defending your own views on live deals every day, producing analysis partners actually use to make decisions — and you’ll treat your own job as a product: every workflow you run twice, you automate on S16 Brain the third time.
Concretely: you won’t just write a market-sizing section — you’ll ship the agent that drafts the next ten. You won’t just benchmark traction — you’ll build the living dataset and the pipeline that keeps it fresh. Within months, you should be running an agent fleet that does the work of a small research team, with you as its editor-in-chief and quality bar.
You’ll be in the room on daily pipeline calls, on founder calls alongside partners, and on the hook for real IC- grade work from week one. We give unusual responsibility unusually early — and coach heavily to match. For the right person, this is a fast track toward Senior Analyst and, over time, an investing career at a fund built like a tech company.
What You’ll Do- Own a slice of dealflow → screen inbound and sourced startups, form a clear pass/invite view, and present and defend it on daily investment pipeline calls — then encode your screening heuristics into S16 Brain agents so the top of the funnel gets sharper every month.
- Drive investment memos → run your own diligence — bottom-up TAM, competitive mapping, traction benchmarking, round/returns math — and draft IC-grade memo sections that need minimal editing. Turn every repeatable piece into an agent or skill the whole team uses.
- Build the analyst stack → design, ship, and maintain agents on S16 Brain that automate research, screening, enrichment, and reporting. You’ll join a fleet of 100+ agents already in production — and be expected to grow it, measure it, and kill what doesn’t work.
- Go deep on markets → build sector maps and theses in areas we care about (AI, infrastructure, dev tools, and beyond), backed by data pipelines you’ve automated — and turn them into proactive sourcing angles.
- Pressure-test deals → spot weak assumptions, missing data, and red flags in decks and data rooms — and call them out directly, including to partners. Then teach the agents to spot them too.
- Support portfolio analytics → work with our Head of Investment Analytics on quarterly reporting, NAV- relevant event tracking, and benchmarking — with the explicit goal of automating the pipeline end-to-end, not just running it.
- Be a power user of our own product → act as a demanding internal user of S16 Brain / Team Brain: file sharp product feedback, stress-test new capabilities on real fund workflows, and help shape what we build next.
- Own projects end-to-end → run research and analysis sprints independently, including occasional 24-hour memo turnarounds when a deal is moving fast — with your agents doing the heavy lifting.
What We’re Looking ForWe’re deliberately setting a high bar — we’d rather wait for a superstar than fill the seat.
- 1–3 years of experience in VC, startups, investment banking, consulting, equity research, or a quantitative/engineering role — or an outlier track record that makes experience irrelevant.
- AI-native builder: this is not optional or trainable-from-zero. You already run your life and work through AI tools, you’ve built agents, automations, or AI-assisted products that other people actually used, and you can show them to us.
- Exceptional analytical horsepower: you decompose ambiguous questions fast, reason from first principles, and are rigorous with numbers (strong Excel/GSheets; financial modeling).
- Product instinct: you look at any recurring workflow and instinctively see the system that should replace it — then scope it, ship a scrappy v1, and iterate based on real usage.
- Investment judgment beyond your years: you have real, defensible opinions on startups and markets — and can show us (angel scouting, a blog, memos, competitions, side projects, prior deal work).
- Sharp, structured writing: you can turn messy research into a clear, opinionated memo that a partner can act on — and write prompts and agent specs with the same precision.
- Conviction with low ego: comfortable disagreeing with partners on a deal, and equally comfortable being wrong and updating fast.
- Self-managed in a remote setup: disciplined, proactive, and reliable in a small, fully remote, international team (CET or EST time zones).
Nice to Have- Real coding ability (Python/JS) — enough to build data pipelines, scrapers, and compiled agents, not just no-code flows.
- Prior exposure to pre-seed/seed investing or angel/scout work.
- Experience shipping internal tools or products at a startup — anything where you owned a system other people depended on.
- Familiarity with Airtable, Notion, PitchBook, Crunchbase, and modern data stacks.
- A public track record of building and thinking: writing, open-source, agents, or products you’ve shipped.
How We Work- Automate first: if you’ve done it twice manually, the third time is a design failure. We build leverage before we add headcount.
- We value ownership and proactivity — pushing things to the finish line and taking initiative matters more than logging hours.
- We go the extra mile when it matters. VC isn’t a 9–5 — there are evenings and weekends when founders or time-sensitive deals need us.
- We give real responsibility early and expect independence, but coach and support heavily.
- You’ll be part of a small, global, remote team running on our own AI platform — discipline and self-management are essential.
Logistics- Full-time role.
- Fully remote, working from CET or EST time zones.
- Competitive compensation, including an equity (carried interest) component.
- Clear growth path: Junior Analyst → Senior Analyst, with a long-term track toward an investing career at a fund built like a tech company.
